Projects / Works-in-Progress Poetry Various poetry in progress, submitting to magazines and online journals. Prose "Face to Face" and "A History of Flight" submitted to magazines. "Labyrinthus Hic Habitat Minotaurus," "The Boy in the Homemade Robot Suit," "Hanuman's Tail," and various other short fiction in revision stages. First draft completed of Unfolding (novel), second draft on hold. Plays The Final Flight of the Phoenix and Dead Man's Party -- both a part of MONKEY SCI-FI HORROR THEATRE, plays now in final revision and rehearsal process. Godzilla on Sundays -- Two characters, male, with additional voices. Traces the friendship of two geeky, pop culture-obsessed guys from childhood to their adult lives to their falling apart. One-act version produced as part of the Alumnae Theatre New Ideas Festival, March 19-22, 2008. The Nefarious Bed & Breakfast -- in progress, initial public reading, January 18, 2009; full production scheduled for Spring of 2010. When a retired supervillain opens a B&B in downtown Toronto, all he wants is a life of peace and quiet with his invisible wife, his Half-Ape bellboy, and a clientele that will forgive him his past. But on the opening weekend, who should book a room but his arch-enemy, Mr. Mister -- looking for any reason to send him back to the Big House! Language Lessons -- monologue, female. A dominatrix answers the most wearying of questions -- "Why do you do what you do?" But when the explanation involves an abduction by aliens, her life's story takes some altogether unexpected turns. Her final reason may not be communicable ... at least through the spoken word. The Method -- seeking collaborators for adapting to a musical play. Four characters, two female, two male. Scott is running away to start a life with the carnival, hoping to learn to become a sword swallower. But is Jake willing, or able, to teach him? Maybe he should think about what he's running to .... |
